Andrew Cameron was born and raised in Redmond, WA. After High School, Andrew served in the USMC Reserves and attended Western Washington University to study electronics engineering and computer science. Andrew also worked as an Electro-Optics Technician helping B.E. Meyers & Co. develop and produce a Day/Night Vision Camera for both military and law enforcement applications. Upon obtaining his degree in Electronics Engineering, Andrew moved to San Diego, CA to begin work as a civilian scientist at a U.S. Navy research lab, where he helped with various projects such as the rapid design and testing of human computer interfaces, specifically in the field of tactical air defense control.

Andrew discovered his interest in intellectual property in 2002 and shifted from a scientist role to a legal role by becoming a registered patent agent. Andrew then focused solely on securing patent protection for the U.S. Navy in a wide array of technological fields, such as microelectromechanical devices, antenna design, and communication protocols. At the same time, Andrew also began attending the University of San Diego School of Law in the evenings.

After graduating law school and becoming a registered patent attorney, Andrew returned to the Seattle area to be close to family and friends, where he joined the law firm of Blakely, Sokoloff, Taylor & Zafman (BSTZ). Andrew became a partner at BSTZ within four years, working directly with clients to secure patent protection mainly in the fields of image sensors, optics, and switched-mode power supplies. After six years with BSTZ, Andrew joined Muncy Muncy, Geissler, Olds & Lowe, a top-rated national IP law firm, helping prepare and prosecute telecommunication patents including integrated circuits, analog and digital circuit designs, communication protocols, as well as augmented reality processing and applications.

In 2019, Andrew joined Boswell IP to apply his 15+ years’ experience as a patent practitioner to better help clients with their intellectual property needs.
